Larry brings over 30 years of experience in the acquisition, planning, development, construction and marketing of residential and commercial projects. Larry's primary objective is to specifically explore opportunities for SAFARI to expand their efforts in desired growth markets. Most recently, Larry directed the efforts in a land assemblage of over 30 separate tracts totaling more than 48 acres of land on the east side of the historic downtown square of McKinney, Texas.
This endeavor was specific to the design and formulation of a new $600 million Urban redevelopment project. Upon completion, this proposed development concept would have over 2,000 residential units, 150,000 sq. ft. of retail & restaurant space, new municipal facility, full-service hotel and 70,000 sq. ft. conference center.
Prior to Safari Development Services, LLC, Larry was head of development at Lone Star Companies of Dallas, where he brought in over $1 billion of development and construction opportunities.
They completed over 1,600 Class A apartment units in their targeted markets. As a successful Commercial General Contractor, Larry's companies completed over 145 retail stores in 14 different states with clients, Payless Shoe Source, Pizza Inn and Color Tile Stores. The self-storage industry caught Larry's attention where he was instrumental in the development and construction of over 1 million sq. ft. of self-storage across Texas and Florida.
Larry's "in-the-trenches" attitude has served him well in developing relationships with field personnel, building officials and client representatives. Safari Development Services, LLC plans to be an active player in the new and unique opportunities that will surface in the next few years.
